WYSIWYG

Does a WYSIWYG editor have to be submitted to a database?

I built a WYSIWYG using a tutorial I found online. It opens in IE and works perfectly for editing the text. My problem is that all the information I’ve found for submitting the contents of the editor involve a database.

Is there anyway to submit the contents of the editor into a separate html file locally without going through a server?

Thanks in advance.
Thank you both for your answers. I honestly don’t know which one to call best because they are both good in different ways. I will let the voters decide. Thanks again.

Online WYSIWYG editors are typically used in conjunction with some other web based application, such as a wiki or bulletin board system. I do know of a wiki that has an WYSIWYG editor plugin, and the wiki nor the editor use a database, but instead save the data as text files on the server. You might want to check it out, and perhaps ask the author what methods were used to accomplish this. It’s called Dokuwiki: http://www.dokuwiki.org/dokuwiki

What is an easy to use WYSIWYG Editor?

I need to create a professional looking website, but i dont have much experience with web design.
I was thinking about using Adobe dreamweaver, but is that to Complicated? I can work out how to use programs (such as photoshop) easily most of the time.

There is no way you can create a PROFESSIONAL web site with a Visual Web Editor and NO experience.

Well well well… if it isn't my old nemesis Kevin_Cox. Well played Kevin, well played. I see your idea WYSIWYG for Mobil HTML has won the weekly IdeaWarz tournament. Who would have thought 7 random letters could take you so far!

Pardon? WYSIWYG stands for "What You See Is What You Get"? You weren't simply mashing your keyboard at that moment? Fiend!

You may have out-smarted me this time with your "Acronym". But unlike the abbreviated title for your victorious idea… my patience knows no bounds. One day, Kevin_Cox, you will submit an inferior idea… and victory shall be mine!
